We are looking for a Climate Project Leader and a PreK Educator to join the UPG team.
We are looking for people who are:
- Passionate about protecting our community from Climate Crisis
- Ready to truly “Be the change” in your local community through Service-Learning and Climate Justice
- Prepared to support the Guild with both ongoing and new projects
- Driven, self-starters who love the environment
What We Do: Urban Paradise Guild (UPG) was founded in 2008 to fight Climate Change. We are the first Climate Active organization in Miami-Dade, and we have an exciting pipeline of projects and partners to keep us very busy fighting Climate Crisis in 2022 & beyond. UPG is a 501c3 Non-Profit, and also a Guild which invests in our Members, Volunteers and our employees.
These are entry-level positions at $15 an hour. Training, mentoring, and professional development are provided by the Guild. Upward mobility is expected, as your skills develop.
Climate Project Leader
Requirements:
- Years of plant experience.
- Good people and leadership skills. Experience with Volunteers or in the Military a plus.
- Weekend and morning hours plus routine assignments
- Up to 35 hours per week
- Ability to lift 50lbs. This is a physical job that includes working outside
Roles:
Vegetable garden and permaculture installations. Nursery management. Habitat restoration. Invasive Removal. Volunteer management. Project planning and design. Administrative duties. Applicable experience or education is helpful.
PreK Educator
Requirements:
- Must love children.
- Years of experience with plants.
- Self-starter.
- Interest in early childhood education is a plus (all previous employees are now educators).
- Weekday morning hours plus special assignments, approx 20 hours per week.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Roles:
Teaching at several PreK locations utilizing UPG Living Classrooms. Child safety and wellness. Living Classroom / vegetable garden / habitat maintenance. Arts background helpful.
