This is a preliminary description, and subject to change.

PreK Education Intern(s) (Part Time, Un-Paid)

The Education Intern(s) assist the Environmental Educator as needed to ensure that PreK students have positive experiences. Please review it. This is a hands-on position.

An ideal candidate is an entry-level education professional with environmental roots. S/he should be in college earning an education degree (or a degree in an environmental field with an education minor).

This is a hands-on position. It requires an active person who can lift, dig, sweat, and expects to get grubby. Garden Maintenance (weeding and planting, etc) is required. Occasional labor may be needed, such as garden installation. Must be prepared to collaborate under UPG management with multicultural School partners, as part of a team that includes sustainability and dietary evaluators and instructors.

We anticipate hiring 2 or 3 Interns who will each work at least 1 day per week for 3 hours on a routine schedule.

The positions are for 40 weeks (with all intern hours providing coverage 5 days per week for 3 hours per day), serving one of 5 different schools each day on a routine weekly schedule.

Training is provided through immersion at our existing partner site (a Montessori school), and working on related UPG projects to acquire specific skills.
