With Volu​nteer Opportunities at least 5x per week, this is an extraordinary pace.

Operations have real costs: 4 kinds of insurance, plus vehicle fuel and repairs, and much more.

We depend on you to help us keep working. In some cases, we may be able to leverage your donations to get larger grants!

How UPG uses your donations

Urban Paradise Guild is on a mission to remake South Florida into a better place to live, for both people and wildlife. Some fundraisers focus on just one program or capacity.

UPG is growing and reorganizing, with exciting new programs we need to fund for 2023.

Otherwise, it is to fill gaps or enable UPG to leverage additional funding. Sometimes, we use it as “match” when applying for a grant (your $100 might get us another $200).
Perhaps we will pay a grant-writer to help us win a $50K grant, or to fund a fundraiser.

Our super-thrifty methods ensure that your donation will have maximum impact.
We leverage Volunteer work to create mission-essential resources. An example is the UPG Nursery Network, which grows both Native plants and Vegetable plants for use in UPG projects. What we accomplish with almost nothing is huge: tens of thousands thousands of Native trees, shubs, grasses and mangroves planted.
Interns and Team Leaders serve as Volunteer Staff, providing new Volunteers with both training and supervision.

In order to increase our impacts, UPG is beginning to professionalize. This will allow us to engage more Volunteers, Team Leaders and Interns, grow more in the Nurseries, build more gardens, plant more habitat…
